Making a decision with little information
Most times poker players are having to make the most difficult decisions with limited information. Even the poker pros, who may be experienced at knowing what to do in certain situations and being aware of telling signs, are acting on gut feel often. They make up their minds on what to do, with very little information provided.
And often we get it wrong, perhaps even more wrong than what we would like to admit…
Then again, a lot of times in our lives we don’t have the time to gather all the information and do a thorough analysis of a situation… often you just have to go with your gut feel and get on with it!
I remember one of my first bosses always said, “making no decision is worse than making the wrong decision”. And, the reason for that is that if you don’t make a decision you don’t move forward. In business or in life, you can always change your decision or direction, if it is not correct. If you make no decision then you never improve or move forward.
… and in poker if you don’t make a decision you can’t win!
